A simple shell script – let’s call it index-html.sh – to turn a list of file names into html links:
#!/bin/sh echo '<html><body>' sed 's/^.*/<a href="&">&<\/a><br\/>/' echo '</body></html>'
Example use:
ls | index-html.sh > index.html
